   Surveying for wild boar presence/absence

If you require confirmation that wild boar are present in a particular habitat or area of land, we can perform a survey to confirm if this is, or is not, the case.

For such a large animal wild boar are remarkably elusive. Their daylight hours are typically spent hidden in dense vegetation, only emerging at dusk to begin their nightly foraging activities. Such behaviour ensures that detecting the species presence is not straightforward. Who's print: wild boar, domestic pig, muntjac or red deer?

Fortunately their nocturnal behaviour leaves behind an array of field signs that, to experienced personnel, betray their presence once daylight returns.

We have several years experience of surveying a variety of habitats to detect if wild boar are present.

"I know of wild boar in the woods on the Kent/East Sussex border because my dog was attacked by one earlier on this year. She had extensive injuries and is lucky to be alive. She is a fair size and did nothing to antagonise the boar, although it was the breeding season and probably had young."
