For such a large animal wild boar are remarkably elusive. Their daylight hours are typically spent hidden in dense vegetation, only emerging at dusk to begin their nightly foraging activities. Such behaviour ensures that detecting the species presence is not straightforward.
Fortunately their nocturnal behaviour leaves behind an array of field signs that, to experienced personnel, betray their presence once daylight returns.
We have several years experience of surveying a variety of habitats to detect if wild boar are present.
