About us

The Wild Boar Consultancy arose from a rising number of requests received through the British Wild Boar Organisation's website, authored by Dr Martin Goulding, for advice and information on establishing, managing or simply learning about free-living wild boar.

In securing the services of Alan Dedames, one of the countries most experienced breeders of wild boar, The Wild Boar Consultancy is able to advise on any issue relating to wild boar in Britain.

    Founder

Dr Martin Goulding CBiol MIBiol

A former DEFRA employee, Martin has over 12 years experience of wild boar in Britain. Martin has a PhD in wild boar ecology and has worked with the species in a research, academic and management capacity. Martin has authored several books about wild boar and published numerous scientific papers and popular articles. He is also a qualified teacher with enhanced CRB clearance, and has presented at national and international scientific conferences.

Martin is a member of the Institute of Biology and the British Ecological Society.

Alan Dedames

Alan has bred wild boar in natural woodland enclosures for over 15 years, and has helped several land-owners and authorities establish and manage their own herds. Alan is familiar with all aspects of breeding boar and can advise on licensing and fencing requirements, herd establishment and management, security, escaped-animal procedures, and all legal issues.
